EXPLORER TOUR lasts 4 hours

Independently owned and operated by the Vaihonu Team, HUAHINE EXPLORER offers various types of tours using Land Rover Defender vehicles. The popular  EXPLORER TOUR  includes the tour of both Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti,  learn the Polynesian culture, belief, history and legends, see the amazing blue eyes fresh water eels, learn how to process the famous Tahitian vanilla, see our MARAE known in our days as ancient temples or archaeological sites, see the watermelon, melon, Noni and vanilla plantations. This tour runs twice a day and departs between 8.00 - 8.30 AM and 12.45 - 1.15 PM pending where you are staying on the island. 

COMBINED TOUR lasts about 8 hours

This tour is operated by both the Huahine Explorer Team and the Poetaina Cruises Team water activity service provider. It includes the visit of the island on board a very comfortable motored canoe or catamaran, cruises over the leopard, Grey rays, swim in the natural coral gardens of Vaiorea, see the most beautiful species an fauna in their natural environment. Enjoy the making of the famous Poisson Cru à la Tahitienne (Tahitian lime marinated fish with coconut milk) and the lunch on a private motu property in the water or on the beach. After lunch, you will join the Huahine Explorer Team for the Explorer Tour and they will return you to your Hotel or Guest house. This tour departs daily at 8.45 AM and returns at 5.30 PM. The combined tour was specially created for visitors who are spending a very short time on the island so that they may be able to see the maximum in so short time.

Huahine was discovered by Captain James COOK in 1769, and ever since major changes has occurred in the culture even in the behavior. The MAOHI the Polynesian or the natives of these islands believed that what the eyes can see is not sacred (holy) and what the eyes cannot see is sacred, just like the feeling that makes people act or react, therefore, enjoy what you can see and listen to what you can't see.

THE RATES:

The Explorer Tour: 4.500 CFP per person and 2.900 CFP aged 6 to 12   years.            

The Combined Tour: 12.000 CFP per person and 7.000 CFP aged 6 to 12   years.  

GROUP RATES: 
Explorer Tour group rates: 14 and more people: 4.000 CFP per person.
Combined Tour group rates: 16 and more people: 11.000 CFP per person.
